Welcome to The Village Stores at Stoke St Gregory!
Thank you for visiting The Village Stores website. We hope you will find lots of information, inspiration and ideas here! There are pages full of information about the lovely local food that we sell and the services we offer. You can even find out about the suppliers we work with.
At The Village Stores we believe in working with our producers and suppliers to offer our customers the best the west has to offer. Where we can, we will source the food we sell as close as possible to The Village Stores - that way you can be sure that the food you buy is fresh and has not travelled half way around the world to reach your plate. Buying fresh local food is also good for the environment - for example, less packaging, lower transport costs - which is good for everyone. Our apples may not be perfectly round, or our potatoes soil-free, but then we are selling good, honest, real food - not EU-compliant perfection!
But its not all food, food, food. The Village Stores has a tradition of over 100 years serving the community in all sorts of ways. OK - so we don't sell undergarments, pitchforks or bake our own bread anymore - but we do take orders for fresh food, help you pay bills, sell newspapers, magazines, books and maps and even make photocopies of those important documents. We also sell seasonal goods, such as logs, coal and garden plants.
So, just take your time to browse this website and seek inspiration. If you can't find something just ask. A traditional village shop in a beautiful part of the world, just waiting to be discovered. Come and see us soon - The Village Stores at Stoke St Gregory where you will find traditional values, a friendly smile and good food.
